2012 CCJ Wall of Champions

CCJ 15-1 NINJAs go undefeated (12-0) to win the Eastern Shore's February Fling Tournament in Daphne, Al on 19 Feb!!!!

<awaiting suitable pic to be posted>

CCJ 15-1 traveled down to Daphne AL on Feb 19th to play in the one-day Mardi Gras Tournament.  We played the first part of the day in a five team pool with two Eastern Shore teams, Volleyball Pensacola, and NOVA.  We went undefeated in pool play, and then faced a second Volleyball Pensacola in the semi-final match.  In the other semi, Eastern Shore (from our pool) won out in three tough sets against Mobile Storm team, setting up a rematch against them in the finals.  Eastern Shore played us tough in pool play, and they were just as tough during the finals.  But the NINJAs were just too skilled for them, and we won the final match of the day in two sets.

All of the girls played outstanding this weekend.  Jillian and Bailey held down the middle of the court with some fantastic hits.  Elizabeth, Denequa, and Madeline covered the strong side very effectively.  Hannah and Anne Morgan held their own on the right side.  Zuri and Paden passed very well all day.  And Katie and Rapunzel put up some of the most beautiful sets for our hitters to hammer.

All in all, it was a great weekend of volleyball, and we look forward to our next tournament in Huntsville!!!

CCJ 15-1 NINJAs go undefeated (12-2) to win the Alliance Tournament in Franklin, Tn on 4-5 Feb!!!!

The NINJA's went undefeated in pool play on Saturday, not losing a single set in the process.  The tide turned on Sunday, as we met up with three very good teams.   In our first match of the day against Alliance 15-4, we won the first set easily, lost the second set easily, and then took them apart 15-3 in the third.  It was pretty much the same in the second match of the day, as we split the first two sets with Alliance 15-3.  In the third set, we led at the court switch, but they took a commanding 14-12 lead when Jillian Tinglin went back to serve.  Her clutch serving led us a to a hard-fought 16-14 victory and trip to the finals against Team Sting.  We won the final match in two, but it was as tough a match as the previous two.  It came down to a "win by two situation" where both teams exchanged the lead several times before Bailey Mount lofted a serve that hit the top tape and fell over for a championship victory!!!!  Go NINJAs!!!!!

CCJ 18-1 wins Heart of Dixie in Montgomery on 21-22 Jan.

18-1's struggled in the first few games on Saturday. Allowing two teams to take a set, which hadn't been done this season.  Finally regrouping we were able to finish first in our pool at 2-0.  We won our crossover match and finished the day at 3-0.
In the semi-final game on Sunday we faced a team, Central Georgia VBC, that had taken a set from us the previous day and we were determined to play like we were capable of.  Beating them in two straight sets were off to the championship vs Phoenix Rising. A team from the same club that we have played the previous weekend in the championship match.  Our girls were focused and determined to beat them in two sets.  After starting slow on Saturday the girls finished the weekend strong.  They did a lot of things well and worked together as a team!
